Introduction
Today I noticed the free bookmark and password synchronization tool called “Xmarks” will stop the service in 2011. I just tried the tool from Mozilla called “Firefox Sync”.
The tool has all the functionalities of Xmarks. It can synchronize following browser information:
- Bookmarks
- Passwords
- Firefox settings
- History
- Open Tabs
How to synchronize those information between your different computers?
Only for Firefox users!
- Visit https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10868/ and click “Add to firefox”
- After installing the AddOn, restart Firefox
- Choose “I’ve never used Sync before”
- Create a new account with your user name and password
- Choose, which information you want to synchronize
- That’s it
Install on other computers
For other computers, also install the AddOn like described above. But don’t choose “I’ve never used Sync before”, choose “I use Sync already on another computer”.
